In a collaborative effort between the University of Sunshine Coast and our Support Team, we successfully completed applying the latest maintenance packs (MP9 & MP10) to the University’s PeopleSoft HCM environments. The patching initiative, which kicked-off in September 2010 with the dedication and commitment of a number of key players from both the University and the Presence of IT Support Centre, resulted in the successful installation, retrofitting & testing of the latest PeopleSoft maintenance packs. This activity was executed as a separate project, under Presence of IT’s Advanced Patch Management service (refer below), that ran both to schedule and without any significant issues.

Similar to the initiative between the University of Sunshine Coast and our Support Centre, as a support client, you can purchase an allocation of days dedicated specifically to the ongoing patch management of your PeopleSoft or E-Business HRMS. The Presence of IT support team will work closely with you to plan, coordinate and manage the patching lifecycle of your HRMS application over an agreed period.
The Presence of IT advanced patch management support offering incorporates:
- Providing regular notification of generally available application updates and critical patch updates (CPU’s), including any security alerts as advised by Oracle.
- Reducing the risk of non-compliance by applying tax, legal and regulatory updates as they become available.
- Applying HRMS Maintenance Packs or Product Family Release Update Packs, whichever is applicable, in accordance with an agreed patching strategy.
- Conducting patch assessments, producing analysis documentation and reviewing impact with Business. Comparing and retrofitting customisations. Conducting unit, functional / system testing and regression testing of the HRMS, including payroll processes, after patching.
